The goal of this course is to strengthen and refine the skills needed for day-to-day ministry in order to maximize one’s impact and increase capacity for ministry. Course participants will learn to refine time management skills, enhance volunteer recruitment and retention, and better manage staff. They will also learn to cultivate skills for better meetings and delegation of tasks so that the congregation is empowered to lead.
CEU credit
One CEU will be awarded for the successful completion of this course.
About this course
This course is comprised of six self-paced asynchronous learning modules and three synchronous Zoom sessions. Before the course begins, participants should purchase Synergy: A Leadership Guide for Church Staff and Volunteers by Dr. Ann A. Michel. Each learning module involves a combination of readings, videos, podcasts, and online discussion board posts, and participants are expected to complete all the assignments and tasks within the allotted time frame. In the Zoom sessions, participants join the instructor and others in the course for a live discussion of the material.
